I've been refereing TNE for a while, and one thing that I have trouble
refereeing is the Auctions (particularily the Aubaine one) What can you
actually by here? How much will the salesmen charge extra? What's it like?
And one generall question to all other REF's how strict are your weapon
rules on planets? point is, the RC society is based on violence (To some
degree.) as they get much of their technology from TED's and such. So, are
armes at all allowed on the streets? (Ie. Even if it's allowed, do people
carry them?)

had been done by Marc Miller some years back concerning jumpspace.
Among the interesting things mentioned are that the 100 diameter limit
applies to Stars as well as planets. A jump grid (a set of wires buried in the
hull). Hull stresses (a ship's hull needs to be constructed well enough to
withstand jump stress). Critters jumping experience a 'wrenching' sensation
and sometimes nausea (a good indication of a misjump is experiencing nausea).

Hi - I'm trying to find a database listing of the closest stars
to Sol - I got some info from NASA, but it doesn't have anything
nice like XYZ cooridnates, just angles and magnitudes, and I
don't have anything near the math to place these in 3d. Does
anyone have something of this nature that is already in a
digital format? I have the 2300 Near Star List, but I don't

feel like retyping the whole bloody thing, and scanning is proving
to be a bitch. Any help would be appreciated...

Also, on a similar note, someone had done a really neat windows
program that made 3d Starmaps using near earth data - it was
mentioned in the TML, but I cant seem to find the bit now. Can
anyone direct me to an ftp site for that? Thanks,

         Wes
